Norfolk-native Prentice Carroll is a painter, illustrator, and graphic designer who approaches art as an act of spiritual self-discovery. Currently based in Richmond, he is most easily recognized by his ongoing series of brightly-colored masks. Each has an instinctive urgency that simultaneously taps into the human recognition of faces, geometric symmetry, and bold outlines. “I feel as if symmetry has a direct link to one’s sense of sight,” says Carroll, “It's immediate and unwavering.” Carroll is currently accepting freelance commissions, see more of his work on Instagram @_ptcarroll or at artofptcarroll.bigcartel.com.
