Poetry by Sarah Corney
Issue 39 • May 2016 • Charottesville

         we are giggling

pulling at your shoulder to roll your head

pinching your toes with a whispered wake up!

then the quick step down the hall

         the nurses lowering their voices

shifting shadows on the tiles

         then the eyelid unlatched

a magic eight ball already shaken

         already swirling to black.
